The function being tested is who oversees and administers the command’s career development resources. The best answer describes running the ship or squadron’s career counseling program and ensuring that current programs and opportunities are available to all crew members. This role centers on coordinating career guidance, communicating available assignments, education, and qualification opportunities, and making sure everyone has access to these resources to plan their professional progression.

Other options refer to different support areas: advising on drug and alcohol issues is tied to substance-abuse prevention and counseling, which is a separate program; providing financial counseling is a different service; and acting as a liaison with families is the domain of a family readiness or ombudsman-type role. None of those focus on managing the command’s career counseling program and ensuring broad access to development opportunities.

Provides financial counseling to members in their command.
